Ross SMITH & Emma
PIRTLE) was born on 17 Aug 1915 on a farm in northern rural Union
County, IL. His birth was not recorded until the 1950s.
He was a United Methodist minister for 60 years and
lived in many communities in southeastern and southern Illinois.
He died
on 28 Jan 1998 in Carbondale, IL from complications from a stroke,
pneumonia, and COPD. He is buried in
Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jackson County, IL. |

Jurisdiction. In the 1960s she volunteered for the Red Cross in the local
tuberculosis sanitarium visiting with and helping
patients who had tuberculosis.
